Postgraduate Research Student Conference Attendance

All research students are encouraged to present their research at relevant conferences as part of their researcher development. If you are an externally funded student, your sponsor may be able to help with this; there may be funding within your research grant to cover the costs. You can usually apply for funding from any relevant societies you may be a member of and with this in mind, it is always a good idea to talk to researchers in your field to find out the best societies to join in your particular subject area.

Your Faculty or Department may be able to support you if you have been accepted to present at a conference and you should speak to your supervisor regarding this; they can advise you how to apply. In addition you may be eligible to apply for USW’s Postgraduate Research Student Conference Award.
